Auckland: Day 3

Today we went to SheepWorld, this place gives you a real insight on farming in New Zealand, the girls had a blast in this place as they were able to feed some lambs and other farm animals, they all got turns to sheer a sheep and Sarai went out with a new favourite stuff animal, a sheep she now calls Rosy.

The place is a good 45 minutes up north Auckland, which gaves us a great chance to capture some of the sightings on that part of the country.

First thing we did when we arrived was look at the Sheep Show, in which a real farmer explained how sheep dogs behave, all about New Zealand sheep farming and how to sheer a sheep.

After the show they gave each girl a bottle of milk and they brought in some lambs to be feeded, this was one of the favourite experiences of Sarai as she fell in love with those lambs.

After that we got a couple of food bags so the girls could feed the other animals while we took a stroll around the park.

After lunch Sarai decided she wanted to give it a go at sheering a sheep, so we watched the show again, and on she went into stage, took the blade in her hands and… you’ll have to wait for the video to know what happened next 😀

This is the end of another adventure in Auckland, tomorrow we go to Tirititi Matangi island…

  4. What a wonderful sight! It looks like you’ve been put in the set of a big English movie production like the panoramas in a Emma Thompson classic movie or even better, in the Middle Earth.
