Auckland: Day 4

Maureen told us about an island called Tiritiri Matangi which is an open reservation island. Since it’s a reservation it only allows 125 persons to visit the island each day, so bookings must be done in advanced. We were lucky enough to get places so we took Maureen with us for the day.
The island is quite amazing, since it’s a reservation you are not allow to take anything or move anything as the environment has to be as untouched as possible.
The girls had a good time, we had a guided walk in which the guide would explain us everything about the reservation at the same time we were spotting birds and Sarai tried to identify them using a bird book Maureen lend her.
Oh, on this date a school group also did a tour to the island, on the way back a bunch of them approached me because for some reason they thought I was a movie star and wanted to know more about me, when I finally convinced them I was nothing of that sort I ended giving them some spanish lessons and geography lessons too, for some reason they thought in Mexico we speak mexican, and also, they seem to think New Zealand is rather big, they were thinking Mexico is about the same size, haha.
I did learned a couple of things from them though, in New Zealand telling someone “You are an egg!” is like telling them “You are an idiot!”, haha.
