Wellington: Day 13 by Sol
Dec 11
Today we went to the Te Papa museum. As now you know, to get to the museum we took the train from Linden Station to Wellington’s Railway Station, then we walked on the ocean front.
The museum is quite big, it’s 6 floors, so today we only got to see almost one. It’s divided by floors and sections, so each section has a children section, so the girls can play ans learn about what they saw.
Today we saw the Maori culture and how they became the culture they are now.

Then we want and played for a little while, Uri got frustrated because he couldn’t figure out how to make a cube puzzle but then very excited about an owl puppet.

Then we continued our tour learning the Maori culture.

The next section, is about the British invasion, they show the history and how the changes were made, discrimations, rules, treaties, etc.

NEWS: Where does the kiwi fruit come from?

The gilrs couldn’t wait so we had to make a stop in the kids section. They had the opportunity to play with a little guitar, made some artcrafts, played with the toys and more. And they also had a dancing girl stamp on their hand.

So that was the end of the today’s tour, like always the girls cried when we had to leave since they wanted to play more. But we had to go, because we had to walk our way back, make a few shopping in the station’s supermaket, take the train and I had to cook.
We had a great time, we couldn’t finish that tour but we will continue to explore the museum. Until next time…
Sol

I never thought since Uri met Sol, their dream of visitng N. Z. after watching the Lord of the Rings movie, will become a reality. Great job! Now you have a lot of stories to talk about when you come back to your country.
