Auckland: Day 2

Auckland: Day 2

On this second day at Auckland we decided to stay at the apartment resting, the long trip is finally taking a toll on us. The morning was quite uneventful, we had some breakfast and took a shower late in the morning.

We are staying at a place called Devonport which is a suburb of Auckland. So you know Auckland is much like San Francisco in the way that the city is divided by a Bay. We are on the other side of the bay, so we are able to see the CBD, which is the Central Business District, or Auckland City from our window. To travel to the CBD we can either do it by taxi or bus which has to go over a bridge, and that will usually take between 30 min to 1 hour, or the other way, which is what most of the people that don’t have cars do, is take a Fuller Ferry which takes about 15min to cross the bay.

Anyway, Devonport is a suburb and the apartment we are staying at is about 30 minutes walking from the Village, which would be downtown Devonport. After we had some breakfast we decided to go down to the village and have a look around, the village is not really big, and it must be like a block where you can find some fine restaurants, the N World (which is the supermarket chain) and a couple of other businesses.

There is a park there just beside the beach which the girls spotted and quickly prompted us to let them play there. It has an amazing view so we decided to let the play girls around.

After the park we did some grocery shopping and headed back to the apartment for a long sleep, tomorrow a new day of adventure will follow as we are going to visit “Sheep World”.
