Wellington: Day 16 by Sol
Dec 17
Hello everybody, today we went to the Weliington Zoo.

Like almost every day we took the train, in the station Saraí was in the mood for another photoshoot, she began to pose and asked me to take pictures of her. It’s almost impossible to take picture of both of the girls together, Raquel always running around.

In the station we took a bus to Wellington Zoo, took us about 20 minutes to arrive. At the entrance they gave the girls a Zoo journal they had to fill, of course the girls didn’t try to complete it but they kept it as a souvenir.
When we arrived, they told us that in 5 minutes the giraffe feeding would begin, we had to almost run. The giraffe where at the end of the zoo and the trail had a lot of hills, well is not easy if you have to push a stroller or carry a a girl in your shoulders. Omg, I thought my legs couldn’t take anymore, but we finally arrived. We missed the talk but we arrived just in time to feed them, we all got the chance to feed them. At the end everybody went but the food was over, so Sarí kept feeding them until the food finished.

We walked to the kangaroos area. We waited for them to hop, but they were laying on the floor.

Just in front were the Baboons, Saraí was excited about the baby ones.

We walked more and we found a Jeep where the gils could play. There were roosters walking around the zoo. We saw ostriches and different kind of birds.

Funny thing: When Saraí saw the rooster she said “mom, can we cook it?”

We walked up to the lazy lions sleeping on the back of their house.

The next ones were the chimpances, I just love them, they were on the playground area. They had different areas: playground, bedroom, eating room and exercise area.

We found “Timon” meerkats with some purkupines. And of course a jaguar and more animals.

When we went to the red panda house, he just got out of the jungle, so we took a lot of pictures of him. He’s more of the family of the racoons than the bear family.

We saw the sulphur crested cockatoo and the little red flying fox. We had the opportunity to pet the cockatoo. Some baby bears too they were climbing a tree.

Then we continued our journey to the bird house.

We walked almost to the end of the zoo, we found a lake and there was a Australian pelican, just a few meters from us.

Some spider monkeys and white cheeked gibbons.

So that’s the end of our day, the girls had a blast, and we all were tired.

The zoo! Who hasn’t taken the kids to the zoo. I remembered how much Natali and Sol loved going to the zoo. Memories! Thanks for the pictures. As always Sarai looks great as a model. Raquel, well at least she is having fun. Lovely and adorable girls. Love you
